In my last post, I promised I'll finish everything I started last year (and the years before) and I'm still keen on doing that. Thing is, I'll need some serious planning in order to get these unfinished projects done and start some other ones that I'm tired of putting off forever (hence my new Germany icon - I knew I needed one as I typed "serious planning").
Best way I know is making wee lists and strike each item as they are done - and squealing like a fangirl as I watch more and more items getting struck.
Rather than make a big list for the whole year, I'll go with a small one for each month. It'll make the whole thing a lot easier and you never know what may come during the year.
This is the one for January :
+ Finish the last Thind cover (due for December 31st, I know ^^; ) ;
+ Get more information on these umbrella company services thing and see how they can help me freelancing again. Once I get some solid pieces of information - and money, get a subscription on that Graphic Designers Platform website and grab a serious money-making project to work on* ;
+ Finish reading The Girl who kicked the Hornets' Nest ( I feel like I've been on that book forever) and start reading a new book - one from my reading list, please ;
+ Type 5 pages of my Hetalia fan fic (which is currently consisting of dirty handwritten pages from an old notebook) ;
+ Get one illustration done - no matter the subject, the app or tools used, just GET.IT.DONE ! And post it on DA.
+ Follow one tutorial from the Advanced Creations magazines you've bought in the last month. Yes, you can use one for the illustration but you could also try a photo-manipulation or some DTP for a change, that'll look good on your pressbook.
That's gotta be it.
(* I'll write more on that later)

Because I'm on my parents' computer - which I turned on first to print a very important document, plus Mum wants to check her mail and my sister and her man are to turn up soon for a late lunch.
All in all, it was a very quiet holiday spent with the family. Christmas at the Grandma's, New Years Eve with the parents and my uncle - the rest of the week running various errands and when I've got the time, drawing, reading, writing my Hetalia fanfic and watching How I Met Your Mother. I didn't ask for more, especially when you've spent the two previous Christmases and New Years' Days all alone in an appartment - working. It may sound stupid but you realize how nice these little things actually are when they're taken away from you.
I didn't think of taking New Years' resolution but still, there's one goal I've been having in the back of my mind for a couple of days : I want to complete anything I've started last year and in the year to come. I think especially in terms of art and design - writing, illustrating, designing websites or stuff like that, but it could also a reading list or anything else (I don't have any other example in mind). Whatever it is, I don't want to finish 2011 with anything unfinished or worse, abandoned.
Happy New Year to everyone ! May all your wishes come true.
